2 dead, 4 wounded in high-school shooting near Seattle
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — A police commander says two people died in a shooting at a high school near Seattle Friday, including the student gunman.
Four other people were transported to area hospitals, Dr. Joanne Roberts of Providence Regional Medical Center, said in a televised briefing. Three of those people suffered gunshot wounds to the head, according to Roberts.
Cmdr. Robb Lamoureaux of the Marysville, Wash., police department said in a televised briefing that police conducted a sweep of classrooms at Marysville Pilchuck High School to ensure all students were out of the complex.
Students were bused to a nearby church to be reunited with their families.
Broadcast reports indicated the shooter was a 14-year-old freshman at the school.
A notice on the Marysville School District website said the school remains on lockdown until further notice.
