What do ascending bases, cups without handles, flat bases, high tight flags and three-weeks-tight formations have in common?

Proper buy points to all of these are at each pattern’s high plus 10 cents. The rationale behind that concept is that stocks that hit new highs tend to go higher, especially when that occurs in high volume.

But you don’t always have to wait for a new high to buy. In many cases, the buy point 19 near but still below a 52-week high.

Generally, a proper buy point 12ies within 15% of a 52-week high. Deeper buy points tend to be faulty.There are certain factors to look for in a handle. First, it should correct no more than 10% to 15%, and it should form in the upper half of the stock’s base. Those that form in the lower half are more failure-prone.
