Symetra Financial Corporation offers IPO

Bellevue, Wash.-based life insurer Symetra Financial Corporation (“Symetra”) today opened for trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “SYA” after its successful IPO, which raised $364.8 million in total proceeds (for both primary and secondary shares).

Symetra is among the first companies to go public on the NYSE in 2010.

To mark this special occasion, Symetra President and Chief Executive Officer Randy Talbot rang today’s Opening Bell, joined on the podium by Symetra senior leaders and members of the company’s board of directors.
