Logano claims pole; Danica to start 39th
Patrick’s lap of 172.990 mph was nearly 9 mph slower than what put Logano on the pole. He’ll be joined by Joe Gibbs teammate Kyle Busch on the front row, with Brian Scott and Carl Edwards behind them in row two.
Qualifying was Saturday morning at the two-mile superspeedway, and the race later in the day.
Logano, who earned his eighth Nationwide pole, finished seventh in the season opener last weekend at Daytona. Patrick made her NASCAR debut in that race and was caught up in a 12-car accident just past the midway point of the race.
