Maddie and Tae Jump Into a New Tour With Dierks Bentley
Maddie and Tae flipped the script on “bro country” with their hit “Girl In a Country Song” and have grabbed the attention of Dierks Bentley! The duo recently announced they’ll be heading out on tour with Bentley this summer for his Sounds of Summer tour along with Kip Moore and Canaan Smith.
Maddie & Tae’s lyrics challenge the way women are portrayed in country songs, and they’re beating out seasoned professionals on the country chart with their powerful message.
Speaking of challenging, Bentley did not let the gals off easy when he asked them to join him on tour. Bentley had them jump in the freezing, cold Percy Priest Lake in Nashville as a way to initiate them along with the other tour openers.

Tae tells E! News, “He didn’t tell us what we were going to do. He just told us it’d be great bonding time to be out on the lake.” Maddie adds, “Then we found out we had to jump in the freezing cold water! It had to be 30 degrees outside.” All joking aside, both women add it’s an honor to be a part of the tour, saying Bentley has been one of their “heroes and idols since they were growing up.”
Maddie and Tae have been on a whirlwind ride since releasing “Girl in a Country Song,” and are quickly proving they’re here to stay on the charts. They’ve got a new album coming out this spring, and their latest single, “Fly,” taps into a whole new side of the girls most fans haven’t heard before but can relate to.

The two met through their vocal coach when they were 15 and 16, Maddie says, “We traveled back and forth to Nashville at 15 and 16.” Then they made the move to Nashville when they were 17 to pursue their dream. At first, the time was challenging for the duo, which inspired their latest single, “Fly.”
Maddie admits, “If I’m by myself, in my car listening to that song, I still tear up to it. We were in this weird, in-between phase of where we were working every single day, just moved to Nashville completely on our own, trying to figure out what we want to do, how to pay rent, and working our butts off to reach this dream…You start doubting yourself.” Tae adds, “A lot of people don’t know that when you’re falling, that’s exactly when you start to fly.”
The duo is set for an exciting year ahead beginning with their new album in the spring and tour with Dierks Bentley this summer!
