5 Reasons I Can’t Wait To Go Back To Maui
Of the 8 Hawaiian Islands, there is no denying that Maui is the best one. Just like many of the other islands, there is a lot that goes on in this island and it has a lot to offer. From climbing a volcano to view sunrise to snorkeling with sea turtles, Maui has something for everyone. Outlined below are just some of the reasons why I can’t wait to go back to Maui.
The breathtaking sunsets
There are many places around the world that can boast of stellar sunsets and Maui is definitely one of them. Thanks to the surrounding atmosphere, sunsets in Maui are just breathtaking. During my stay in Maui, I happened to stay at a hotel that had a walkout door that led to spectacular ocean and beach views. One of my favorite memories at the hotel was watching the sun go down the horizon as I lay on the back porch, hearing some enticing melodies playing in the distance. With temperatures favorable enough, the sight of sunset in Maui is just serene.
The sea turtles
You cannot visit Maui without seeing sea turtles. They are just everywhere and love swimming near sea shores, popping their heads when they get the chance. Right outside our condo, there was a family of turtles that loved lying out on the rocks, perhaps to enjoy sunshine. It is illegal to touch sea turtles in Hawaii so don’t get too excited when you spot one to the point of touching it However, you can get close enough to take a picture of the little creatures.
Maui has plenty of spots where one can enjoy snorkeling but I got the chance to sample just a few: Kapalua Bay and Honolulu. They are just incredible snorkeling destination with everything a person would want. Thanks to the blue clear waters, you can see just about anything lying underneath. The Maui Ocean is just a whole new world. I got the chance to see different varieties of fish, including Crush and Squirt. Here, sea turtles look like dinosaurs underwater.
Spinner dolphins are arguably some of the coolest creatures one can encounter in the world. At first, I decided not to swim with them to see how awesome they look when they swim freely. Watching them trying to show off for us was one of the coolest things. However, I later got too tempted and decided to take a swim and it was one of the most memorable experiences I had in Maui.
Road to Hana
The road that leads to Hana is a 64-mile long stretch that will leave you completely terrified. Well, you won’t definitely feel terrified throughout the stretch. However, there were some sections that left me a little nervous and sweaty. This explains why you can’t drive this road alone, so bring a long a tour guide who is also an experienced driver.
With winding roads, beautiful flowers in the forest and incredible waterfalls, road to Hana should top your list if you love adventure. Maui is a renowned tourist spot with incredible landscape and plenty of things going for it.
