Ford Bronco renderings, 2017 Buick Encore, and more | Autoblog Minute
[00:00:00] We got an early look at what the next generation Ford Bronco could look like. There was big upheaval this week at Lamborghini and Audi’s Quattro division, plus spy shots of the 2017 Buick Encore. It was a busy week here at Autoblog let’s jump right in.
What will the new Ford Bronco look like? This week we have some illustrations from the Bronco website called Bronco6g.com. They rendered a pretty attractive looking off-road inspired vehicle. Now if you look at these renderings you can see a little of the
[00:00:30] heritage from the 60s and 70s of this iconic vehicle. Ford Vice President Mark LaNeve said at the Chicago Auto Show that the company is planning an ambitious blitz of four SUVs in the next four years. They have not confirmed that the Bronco is one of these vehicles but we certainly hope that it is.
There was a shake-up this week at Lamborghini. Long time boss Stephan Winkelmann is out. He’s moving over to another Audi property, Quattro GmbH.
[00:01:00] Replacing him is Ferrari’s former team principle, Stefano Domenicali. So it’s a lot of musical chairs here at a couple of iconic sporting automakers.
Winkelmann will be overseeing Quattro, which includes Audi’s customization program, its customer racing program, and most importantly this is Audi’s in-house sporting, go-fast, division. It’s comparable to AMG for Mercedes.
Domenicali is stepping into big shoes. He’ll be expected to continue Lamborghini’s aggressive growth pattern of the last few years,
[00:01:30] as well as, launch the companies SUV the Urus.
As the week was winding down we got some red hot spy shots coming in on Thursday. These are of the 2017 Buick Encore. Basically it gets some new headlights and a new grill. This really dresses up what was kind of a middling looking crossover. Now we expect all of these enhancements to give the Encore a boost when it goes on sale later this year.
Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to come back this Saturday for my full recap, where
[00:02:00] I’ll have some more insight into the shake-up at Lamborghini and Quattro. For Autoblog, I’m Greg Migliore.
