The battle of interconnects seems to be falling into the latter category. If your computer hooked up to the Internet or a local area network lately, it probably used an ethernet card. Ethernet is the dominant architecture that computers and servers use to connect to each other. But it's not the only one. InfiniBand was created in 1999 as a faster, higher-performing standard than ethernet. Israel-based Mellanox Technologies (MLNX) was formed the same year to sell InfiniBand-based hardware. |
