Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN - News) is reaping the benefits of the ongoing economic recovery. The company recently topped earnings expectations and analysts are raising their estimates. Company Description Tenneco makes emission control and ride control systems for automotive manufacturers world wide. The company's brands included Monroe, Walker, Gillet and Clevite Elastomer. Beat the Street On Apr 29 Tenneco reported first-quarter results that included a 36% increase in revenues, to $1.3 billion. Margins also improve dramatically, with the gross margin up 400 bps, to 18.5%. Higher revenue and better margins usually lead to impressive earnings. Cramer devoted a segment to discussing a sector that is winning this earnings season; travel and leisure. Although this sector was "on life support" not too long ago, Royal Carribbean (RCL), Starwood Hotels (HOT) and Travelzoo (TZOO) delivered "huge beats." Revenue per available room, a "hugely important" metric for the industry, exceeded management's expectation for nearly every major hotel company.
