Positron Introduces Attrius and Tech-Assist at Society of Nuclear Medicine Annual Meeting
News - Financial News
--(www.FinancialNewsUSA.com)-- 07/02/2009 - Positron Corporation (OTCBB: POSC) (the "Company"), a molecular imaging company focused on Nuclear Cardiology, introduced their new cardiac optimized PET scanner, the Attrius(TM) and portable FDG dose administration system, the Tech-Assist(TM), during their participation at the Society of Nuclear Medicine Annual Meeting held this June in Toronto, Canada (www.snm.org).

The conference was a tremendous event to showcase Positron's much anticipated launch of the Attrius(TM) and Tech-Assist(TM). Positron's products were met with industry-wide acclaim and interest from both the cardiology and oncology fields. The Attrius(TM) PET scanner, recently 510(k) approved by the FDA, was designed for cardiac optimized PET imaging yet offers standard whole body imaging capabilities. Whole body imaging with sodium fluoride is becoming a viable and relevant alternative to SPECT imaging due to the recent molybdenum shortage. Positron's Tech-Assist(TM) is a portable dose administration system that reduces worker exposure during PET injection applications, including FDG, sodium fluoride for whole body bone imaging, as well as, new F-18 agents that are injected by a syringe.

"The Society of Nuclear Medicine meeting exceeded all our expectations. The radiation exposure protection provided by the Tech-Assist(TM) has become a necessity and now a true priority for all. We received tremendous interest for the Attrius(TM) as Cardiac PET has become the standard in nuclear cardiology. The Attrius(TM) also saw interest for whole body bone imaging with sodium fluoride," stated John Zehner, COO of Positron Corporation. "The reoccurring Molybdenum shortage is causing the industry to demand alternatives, such as PET. It was apparent based on customer interaction that our product and service strategy is aligned perfectly with ongoing industry needs. Positron products are positioned as important enablers in the growth of the industry."
