A JetBlue flight attendant encountered one too many turbulent passengers earlier today and called his career quits after a profanity-laced tirade over the intercom, the New York Daily News tells us. After Flight 1052 from Pittsburgh landed at New York's Kennedy Airport around noon, he left the plane by way of the emergency slide. "To the passenger who called me a m---f--er, f--- you," flight attendant Steven Slater bellowed over the intercom, passengers said. "I've been in the business 28 years. I've had it. That's it." Port Authority police arrested Slater at his home in nearby Belle Harbor, Queens. Charges were pending. Update at 5:28 p.m. ET: JetBlue tweeted that "At no time was security or safety of our customers or crewmembers at risk." Regarding the emergency slide, NYCAviation writes that it can cost up to $10,000 to replace one, not counting the cost of having the plane out of service.
