American Eagle Airlines is facing $155,000 in proposed civil penalties for alleged safety violations.The Federal Aviation Administration said American Eagle operated flights “with incorrect weight and balance data,” and used “improper maintenance procedures when repairing a jet engine and then operating the aircraft when it was not in compliance with FAA regulations.”Inspectors observed discrepancies in weight and balance data on the flights on Dec. 28 and 29 of 2010, the FAA said. “In eight instances, loading documents for checked luggage did not match observations made by the inspector.” The FAA proposed a civil penalty of $80,000 for the violations.
