Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS, the Turkish unit of Ford Motor Co., will invest 950 million liras ($674 million) on production of a new Transit model. The investment will be made in Ford(TM)s factory in Kocaeli in northwest Turkey, Ford of Europe Chief Executive Officer Stephen Odell said in a statement today. Turkey, whose economy grew more than 10 percent annually in the first two quarters, is a production hub for international manufacturers including Ford, Fiat SpA and Toyota Motor Corp. Ford Otosan(TM)s second-quarter net income surged 47 percent, helped by rising sales in Turkey.
